The walk to Stadio San Siro from our apartments is straightforward and takes about 10 minutes at a comfortable pace:
- Head west along Via Harar โ a residential street with apartment buildings on both sides.
- Turn onto Via Piccolomini โ you'll start to see the stadium's distinctive towers rising ahead.
- Follow the flow of people on match days โ the crowd naturally guides you to the correct entrance gate.
- The main entrance and ticket offices are on the south side (Piazzale Angelo Moratti).
On match days: Allow extra time (leave 30-45 minutes early) as the streets fill with fans and some roads are closed to traffic. The atmosphere during the walk is part of the experience โ enjoy it!
๐ถ Walking Route: To the Metro

- Walk east along Via Harar toward Piazzale Lotto.
- The metro entrance is clearly signposted with the purple M5 markers.
- Total walk: about 5 minutes, all on flat, well-paved streets.
From San Siro Ippodromo station, the metro takes you to: Lotto (1 stop, CityLife), Portello (2 stops), Tre Torri (interchange area), and onwards to Garibaldi and central Milan (5-6 stops). The entire ride to the city center takes about 15 minutes.

๐บ๏ธ Orientation Tips
- The stadium is your compass. You can see its distinctive tower structures from much of the neighborhood. Walk toward it for the stadium; walk away from it toward the east for the metro and CityLife.
- Via Novara is the main east-west artery through the neighborhood. It's lined with shops, restaurants, and bus stops.
- Google Maps works perfectly in the area and is the easiest way to navigate specific routes. Download the offline map of Milan before your trip in case of spotty data.
- Street numbers: Italian addresses use even numbers on one side and odd on the other. Numbers generally increase as you move away from the city center.
๐ฒ Beyond Walking: Bike & Scooter
San Siro's flat terrain is ideal for cycling. BikeMi (Milan's bike-sharing system) has stations throughout the area โ you can pick up a bike near the metro and ride to destinations further afield. Electric scooters (Lime, Tier, Bird) are also available and are a quick way to cover the distance to CityLife or the parks.
