Open 24 hours, free admission, and beloved by locals for morning jogs and evening strolls. The park connects to the broader western Milan cycling network, allowing you to pedal all the way to Boscoincittà or the Naviglio Grande.

Monte Stella (La Montagnetta)

Distance: 20 minutes on foot | Height: 45 metres | Size: 370,000 m²

Milan's only "mountain" — an artificial hill created from World War II rubble and later construction debris. Monte Stella rises 45 metres above the plain, offering panoramic views of the Milan skyline and, on clear days, the Alps. The hill is covered in Mediterranean-style vegetation with winding paths leading to the summit. It's a favourite spot for runners tackling hill training, couples enjoying sunset views and families on weekend walks. The Giardino dei Giusti (Garden of the Righteous) at the summit commemorates those who opposed genocide and injustice.

CityLife Park

Distance: 20 minutes on foot / 2 metro stops | Size: 170,000 m²

Milan's most modern green space, created as part of the CityLife development on the former Fiera Milano grounds. This contemporary park features innovative landscaping, a children's play area, a small lake, and walking paths surrounded by the striking architecture of the Three Towers (Isozaki, Hadid, Libeskind). Boscoincittà

Distance: 25 minutes by bike | Size: 1,100,000 m²

Literally "Forest in the City" — Boscoincittà is a vast semi-natural woodland covering over 110 hectares northwest of San Siro. Created in 1974 as an experiment in urban reforestation, it now features mature woodland, meadows, ponds, community gardens and educational nature trails. It's ideal for longer walks, birdwatching and escaping the city completely without actually leaving Milan. The park hosts nature workshops, guided walks and seasonal activities.

Ippodromo Gardens

Distance: 10 minutes on foot | Size: 40,000 m² (public areas)

The green areas surrounding Milan's San Siro Hippodrome (horse racing track) provide pleasant walking paths lined with mature trees. While the racecourse itself operates on scheduled days, the surrounding gardens are accessible year-round and offer a quiet, elegant setting for a stroll. Parco delle Cave
